This'll teach me...

...to be a bit more organised with my photos. I know this one was taken when I spent a day in Portslade Old Village, but I can't remember exactly where. Nice textures though!

Sun and sparkles

It's been a dreary few days at the seaside but today there's some sunshine sparkling off the sea.

Hove Lagoon

The weather's still mild, grey and damp here; I much prefer proper winter weather - cold, bright and sunny like this day way back in January 2010.

Adelaide Crescent

Today is grey and overcast - not particularly cold, just dismal - so here's one from the archives. This is Adelaide Crescent taken back in December 2008.

Portslade old Village 4

The last of the cottage photos; I'll revisit them in the summer when their gardens are full of colour.

Portslade Old Village 3

Cottages at the bottom of High Street, the view somewhat marred by a brace of council wheelie bins.

Portslade Old Village 2

Looking down High Street; yesterday's cottages are just out of shot on the right.

Seen from a crazy angle

The roof of one of the newly-refurbished shelters on Hove seafront. I like bright blue, yellow and white together; a great colour combination.

A different view

The home of Hove Daily Photo (with added cat cuteness).

Perfect

I'm looking forward to warmer weather so I can relax in this sheltered spot between the sea and Friday's beach huts. Nice weather, a blanket to sit on, a bottle of water, knitting and my Kindle. Perfect.

First of the year

A friend came to visit yesterday, bringing a gift of daffodils. Spring is on the way!

Even in winter

Brighton's iconic Royal Pavilion looks wonderful even on a grey overcast day like yesterday.

One of my favourites

A brisk walk along Hove seafront to Hove Lagoon.

The Woolly Bus

From January to August 2011 Cocoon Knits in Hove are running an appeal to raise money for the Martlets Hospice by yarnbombing an open top double decker bus. This involves covering the bus entirely with knitted squares, and we need about 4,000 of them.

Cocoon are calling on experienced, beginners or just curious knitters from all over the country - even the world - to pick up their needles and help. Each participant will collect sponsors and knit a minimum of three 15cm x 15cm squares. The minimum sponsorship amount is £25 per entry but we’re aiming to raise as much as possible.

To celebrate the end of the project the bus will be driven along Brighton seafront on the 20th August with contributors and guests aboard. After the event all blankets will be broken down and sent to Africa with the help of Knit a Square charity to help keep AIDS orphans warm.

We aim to raise over £40,000 for the Martlets Hospice.

For a sponsorship pack please either collect a form from any Martlets shop or Cocoon, 10 George Street, Hove or email your name, address and email to: hayley@cocoonknits.co.uk Please state whether you’d like an e version for you to print at home or a physical version sent out to you in the post.
