Mystery plant

Or should that be 'monster plant' because it's several feet tall? The plant's growing in a Goldstone Villas garden and I have no idea what it is!
ETA It's called Echium pininana - mystery solved :o)

Saw one of those (a little one in a pot) for sale at £5.95 at Hestercombe Gardens today. They do grow very tall!
