The snow's finally disappeared from my tiny corner of the world and life can get back to normal. I like these bare trees at the bottom of Brunswick Square; they've been battered into shape by strong winds blowing off the sea.

That kite has been stuck in the middle tree for 18 months – I can see it from my top floor window. the Square used to have dozens of mature trees – only a handful now remain.
