Magpies

One for sorrow, two for joy;
Three for a girl, four for a boy;
Five for silver, six for gold;
Seven for a secret, never to be told;
Eight for a wish, nine for a kiss;
Ten for a bird that's best to miss.

Did you know you should salute a solitary magpie?
Not sure why - think for luck

I never knew the rhyme past 7. I love Magpies - they have been having aerial combat between about 3 pairs around here this week. I find them so entertaining.
