Floreat Hova

Hove's coat of arms above the doorway of an office building, Regent House, in Hove Street. The Latin motto means "May Hove flourish".

Regent House used to house Hove Fire Station (1926-1976). The 2 arched windows were the garage for the fire engines and the roadway to the right, now leading to a block of flats, led to the parade ground and where the training tower used to be.

You're welcome:) My Dad was a fireman there from the 1940s to the 1960s and I spent many a happy time 'clanging' the bells on the engines when I went there with him as a young child. (No klaxons in those days) A couple of old pics -
