Asleep in Jesus

Family gravestone of Alan Hyde Gardner, St. Andrew's Old Church, Church Road. 
The inscription reads: Sacred to the memory of Alan Hyde Gardner Commander of the Indian Navy, third son of the late Rear Admiral the Honble. Francis Farington Gardner R.N. who died in this parish 11th November 1858, aged 44 years.
Also in memory of Francis Farington Gardner, who died at Brighton 8th December 1875, aged 18 years only son of the above Alan Hyde Gardner, and Lucy Elizabeth, his wife. 
"The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away: Blessed be the name of the Lord." Job 1. V 21.Also in memory of the said Lucy Elizabeth Gardner, who died 17th October 1886.

interestingly, I have been trying to find a story on a Farington I found in Wentworth.
