There's been heavy cloud cover all day apart from a narrow horizontal slash of brightness. As the day's worn on, the bright slash has deepened and a band of dark clouds has appeared on the horizon.
That is strange and beautiful. I like that you're offering a number of shots from what seems like the same spot (your balcony?). Gives a nice sense of the place over time.
I can only apologise for cutting and pasting this comment, but there was no way on Earth I would be able to make it around the whole globe to wish everybody a Merry Christmas otherwise. I have only one pair of hands and the magical elves that I have working for me are a bunch of lazy good-for-nothings. All they do is sit around smoking and telling dirty jokes!
Anyway, from myself, Henry and Ezra, have a Merry Christmas/Winter Solstice/Hanukkah/Festivus and a happy New Year!
I hope that all of your holiday photos turn out to be triumphs and all your gingerbread men/women come out smiling.
I moved to Hove from London in 2007 and I'm gradually finding out about the delights of both city and seaside. Come and join me on my pictorial voyage of discovery.

I absolutely love this shot. The composition puts me in mind of Rothke. It looks great squared like this. Well done!

You were in the right place at the right time to get this picture. Very unusual, and skilfully captured. Well done.
